I always tell customers to check that their music has not been reissued on CD already, as this is by far the cheapest way out, then use a specialist service like SoundAbout.co.uk if the music is not available anywhere.
The work involved in transfering Vinyl, 78′s etc to CD (to do properly) is actually very time consuming and uses several thousands of pounds of hardware and software.
On average it takes at least twice the running time of the material to be copied by the time, editing, some manual restoration is done, track markers, CD text, track listings are exported to CD and inlay card, which are then both printed. Then of course there are the material costs and packaging time.

This really depends on the weight. There is a postage charges guide here
Is it safe to post my records? top of the page
Yes – but do use plenty of packing i.e. bubble wrap, news paper etc then pack your goods in a good box and seal it carefully with packaging tape. Please remember 78′s are brittle, if you are sending several, pack them flat with bubble wrap or card board in between with plenty of packing around the outside, then place them in the box. It’s always best to send your goods by registered post, special delivery or a reliable carrier company. We’ve found the Post Office to be fine though. You can find a guide as to cost on our postage page.
Can you convert to MP3 for me? top of the page
Yes we can. You may want your audio in MP3 format as well as CD Audio. Just contact us and we will give you a price. (It won’t cost much extra)
How quickly will I receive my CD? top of the page
In general, allow one week once we have received your goods plus a couple of days to allow for the return post. We will send your goods back by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
How many tracks will I get on a CD? top of the page
A CD runs for about 80 minutes. Allow about 45 minutes for both sides of an LP, 4 minutes per side for a single and 3 minutes per side for a 78. If you have a C90 cassette which is full the transfer will run to two CD’s for which there may be an extra charge.
Will all clicks and pops be removed? top of the page
The better the condition of the original material, the better the end result. We work with professional equipment which produces excellent results, but we will not ‘over restore’ at the expense of spoiling or changing the character of the original material. However – the improvement can be dramatic.
Can you just copy my music without restoration? top of the page
Yes – if you would just like a copy of your material, then we can do this.
Will you carry out extra restoration work if requested? top of the page

Yes – if you would like extra restoration work carried out, please contact us for an estimate of the cost.

Do you take goods from outside the U.K? top of the page
Sorry – We don’t take goods from outside the UK due to complicated and high Import/Customs restrictions and charges.
